James Lee Brewer II Of Brewer Media Passes

James Lee (Jim) Brewer II passed away in Chattanooga on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018, after battling oral cancer. He was 56. Brewer began his radio career in high school in programming. At 28, he became the GM for WJTT FM — Power 94.

He is survived by Sandra Brewer, his wife of 14 years; James L. and Vicki Brewer, his parents; and his children, Danielle Swindell (Tyler); Carly Brewer, and James L. Brewer, III. He is also survived by his stepdaughters Christina Phillips and Caitlyn Miller, grandchildren Paige and Brooke Swindell; his sisters, Kira (Warren) Headlee, Vija (Ron) Long; nieces Jessica (Marc) Arellano, and Jamie Rossman; two grand-nieces, one step-niece, two step-nephews, three step-grand-nephews; Crystelle Stringer, his mother-in-law; and Craig Stringer, his brother-in-law.

A viewing will be held Friday, Feb. 2 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in downtown Chattanooga. Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 3, from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with funeral services following at 1 p.m. There will be a private burial service, arranged by Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.

Memorial donations can be made to the Oral Cancer Foundation Chattanooga or The Partnership for Families, Children and Youth, specifically the Domestic Violence prevention program.
